Privacy Policy

1. Who We Are

Hampton Makes is a software development entity owned and operated by Hampton Lintorn-Catlin. Hampton Makes develops and maintains Unquilt and the GameZone platform. Throughout this policy, "we," "us," and "our" refer to Hampton Makes.

2. What Data We Collect

We collect only the data necessary to operate the Game. The categories of data collected are as follows:

• Authentication tokens — used to maintain your authenticated session.
• Display name & avatar — your chosen name and profile image, displayed on leaderboards.
• Game scores & results — records of your performance on each puzzle.
• Purchase history — records of in-app purchases, used to fulfill purchased items.
• Device information — platform (iOS/Android), operating system version, device model, app version, build number, and a unique install ID. This information is used for diagnostic and debugging purposes.
• IP address — logged automatically when your device connects to our server.
• Phone number (optional) — collected only if you elect to sign in via Firebase phone authentication to enable cross-device play. Anonymous play does not require a phone number.
• Firebase UID (optional) — collected only if you use Firebase phone authentication.

We do not collect email addresses.

3. How We Use Your Data

Your data is used exclusively for the following operational purposes:

• Authenticating your account and maintaining your session.
• Recording and displaying your scores on leaderboards.
• Processing and verifying in-app purchases.
• Filtering display names for profanity to maintain a respectful community environment.
• Diagnosing technical issues using device and version information.
• Tracking user activity status (via periodic pings from the app) to display online player counts.

4. Analytics

We perform internal analytics using data already collected by the Game (scores, play counts, last-seen timestamps, etc.). This data is processed exclusively on our own servers and is not shared with any third-party analytics service.

5. Advertising

On iOS and Android, the Game offers optional Google AdMob rewarded ads. Users may choose to watch a short video advertisement in exchange for in-game rewards. These advertisements are entirely optional and are never displayed without user consent.

When you view a rewarded ad, Google AdMob may collect device identifiers, IP address, and ad interaction data in accordance with Google's Privacy Policy. Hampton Makes does not receive any personal data from AdMob; we receive only confirmation that the ad was viewed in order to grant the applicable reward.

6. Third Parties

We do not sell, share, or rent your data to any third party. The only third-party services involved in the operation of the Game are:

• Apple (App Store) and Google (Google Play) — when you make an in-app purchase, we transmit the transaction receipt to Apple or Google for verification purposes.
• Google AdMob — serves optional rewarded video ads on iOS and Android. See Google's Privacy Policy.
• Firebase Authentication — if you choose to sign in with your phone number, Firebase handles the SMS verification process. See Firebase's privacy policy.

No additional analytics platforms, data brokers, or other third-party services are used.

7. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored in a PostgreSQL database on a dedicated private server located in the United States. Access to this server is restricted solely to authorized Hampton Makes personnel. All data in transit between your device and our server is encrypted via HTTPS/TLS.

8. Children's Privacy

Unquilt is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal data to us, please contact us at hampton@hamptonmakes.com and we will delete it promptly.

9. Data Deletion

You may delete your account and all associated data at any time from within the app's settings. This constitutes a hard delete, which permanently and irreversibly removes your account, scores, purchase records, and all other data associated with your account. No data is retained following deletion.

If you are unable to access the app, you may also request deletion by contacting us at hampton@hamptonmakes.com, and we will process your request.

10. Leaderboards

If you play Unquilt, your display name and scores are visible to other players on public leaderboards. This is an integral feature of the Game. If you prefer not to be identifiable, you may change your display name to a non-identifying alias. Anonymous accounts do not require any personal information.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. If significant changes are made, we will update the effective date at the top of this page and, where feasible, notify users through the app. Your continued use of Unquilt after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
